Union Parishad Chairman Md. Shafiqul Islam inaugurated the program at the Union Parishad premises on the morning of 28/08/2025. UP members, local dignitaries and beneficiary families were present at the time.

Under the "OMS (Open Market Sale)" program of the Food Department, rice is being provided to the extremely poor and low-income groups at a fair price. Each person is given a fixed amount of rice at a price of ১৫ taka per kg.


Locals said that this government initiative has been a great help to them. They have felt some relief by getting rice at a low price as the price of rice in the market is comparatively high.



Union Parishad Chairman Md. Shafiqul Islam said, "This program is being carried out to ensure food security of the common people as per the instructions of the Honorable Chief Advisor. So that no one suffers from shortage."
